This was a top end kitchen that was in good condition but looked very shabby, it had faded badly form the sun and general wear and tear. It took the right primer, 3 coats paint and it was like a new kitchen – the client was amazed at how good it looked!

This was a melamine kitchen, the type found in the average home, it was not in bad condition but it was quite dated. The space was also limited so the use of light and bright colours opened up the room and made it appear larger. A whole new kitchen for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.

Painting Wooden Ceilings

It makes a huge difference to the feeling of room etc. as it really opens up a room or hall way, it’s amazing how much brighter it becomes.

In order for this to be done and look its best you need to apply 4 coats of paint (1 primer + 3 top coats). The primer is essential in order for the paint to adhere to the wood and be long lasting.

However with primer every crack and imperfection shows up, therefore you need to fill all these with caulk. This process is essential to a good job as otherwise you will see all imperfections when it’s painted. It’s the difference between a inexperienced painter and the professional.

Varnishing door

This door was in bad condition and had a dark stain on it.

The client wanted it to be as light in colour as posable, so i had to strip the old stain, varnish off and re-coat with a clear varnish.

Period Building Painting & Decorating in Dublin
This was a job for the Franciscan brothers in Killiney. The Oratory had not been painted in many years and as there were a lot of candles lighting every day the walls and woodwork were very dirty and had to be washed with sugar soap before it could be painted. It was a pleasure to work on such a beautiful building and the rooms came back to life with the fresh paintwork.

Repainting Wooden Ceiling

The wooden ceiling in this house was pine, it had gone very orange over the years and it had a high gloss finish.

The client was thinking of pulling it down and getting a plasterer in – we recommended painting it in an off white flat finish – it took a coat of primer a lot of filler and 3 coat of paint and not only did i look great it completely changed the look and brightened up the room.

Painting PVC windows and doors – inside & out

We were asked if it was possible to paint pvc windows and doors inside and out and yes is the answer – you can paint just about anything as long as you use the right primer.
There was nothing wrong with the windows and doors but the client just wanted a change and to modernise the look of the house, she went with an eggshell finish and was delighted with the results.
